I'm Not There
Richie makes an appearance in the film and on the soundrack of I'm Not There - a biographical film reflecting the life of musician Bob Dylan. The iconic singer-songwriter will be depicted through seven distinct stages of his life by six different actors (Marcus Carl Franklin, Ben Whishaw, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere, and Cate Blanchett). It was co-written and directed by Todd Haynes. A limited US release is expected for November 21, 2007


VANITY FAIR

In the November issue, Annie Leibovitz captures the legends and newcomers—from Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell to Feist and Devendra Banhart—whose honest sound is still a-changin' the times. Richie and Buffy Sainte-Marie were photographed together on Staten Island.

"Best of The Jammys"

A 100-minute DVD compiling some notable performances from the six-year-old awards ceremony focused on the grassroots jam-band scene, is due in stores Nov. 14.

Among the DVD's featured songs are "Freedom" (Richie Havens and The Mutalaytor); "Idiot's Rule" (String Cheese Incident and Perry Farrell); "Hoochie Coochie Man" (Buddy Guy, Phil Lesh, John Mayer and ?uestlove); "Don't Fear the Reaper" (Blue Oyster Cult); "Do You Feel Like We Do?" (Peter Frampton and Guster); and "Wharf Rat" (Phil Lesh and Ryan Adams & the Cardinals).

Richie was inducted into The Long Island Music Hall of Fame on October 15th.


IN THE STUDIO

Richie has recorded "Tombstone Blues" (produced by Joe Henry) for the new Bob Dylan movie, I'm Not There. He also appears in the film, which is tentatively scheduled for a January 2007 release.


The Hoax

Richie's hit version of "Here Comes the Sun" will be featured in the upcoming movie The Hoax, starring Richard Gere and Marcia Gay Harden.


College Crier

Richie talks with T. Virgil Parker of the College Crier.


The Empire in Africa

The Empire in Africa, directed by Philippe Diaz and narrated by Richie Havens, took the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival
