Some song favorites

The song :
Here Comes The Sun

Using pictures from the "How i play" page as PIC~TABS you can learn some of my favorite songs...
Just follow the lyrics and the pic's, changing the chords as you go. Use your own sense of rhythm
or timing (pacing) to learn the song, and then sing it the way you want to... your style...

Here comes the Sun is one the few really happy songs I sing,
I believe that is because it has one of the simplest messages... The sun
will come up every day that we live... We can count on it... and that
means that everyday the world is Brand new... and that is alright...

There are only two finger configurations needed...
the "Major" and the "Minor"

To Begin:

Starting on the 12th fret... i am playing the top 4 strings, and using
the open D lower octave ( when I am not touching the fret board at all ) to
create my basic rythym pattern for the intro... right into the first line of
the song.

"Little Darlin' it seems like a..." move to the 5th fret ( Major ) "Long long lonely..."
move to the 7th fret ( Major ) "Winter"... Then back to the 12th fret...
for the 2cnd line.

" Little Darlin' it seems so..." move to the 5th fret ( Major )" long since it's been..."
move to the 7th fret ( Major )"here"--back to the 12th fret ( Major )
for first line of chorus:...

Here Comes The Sun... move to the 5th fret ( Major )
Here Comes The ... move to the 2cnd fret ( Major )...Sun and I say...
back to the 12th fret...it's alright.....

Then giving each chord 1 beat: you play --5th fret ( Major) -- 4th fret ( Minor)
-- 2cnd fret ( Minor) -- 7th fret (Major) -- back to the 12th fret... 5 top strings .

Repeating the previous pattern with the second and third verses, you got the
song now.

Thanx for your Patience
Richie Havens
Many have asked for certain songs to be added to theTab room section.
I am glad to say that they are almost done and ready to be uploaded to
the Tab room... Thanx again

The song : God bless the child

God bless the child is one of my favorite songs , I believe that it
too has one of the simplest messages we could learn... hopefully
at an early age. " It's better to apply your energy and yourself to
becoming whatever you and whomever you are truly be and not
just accept what others wish for you to be... Depend on yourself first.

And to me that means that everyday that the world is Brand new...
you will definately be able to handle what comes... when no one
else around you can help... or won't.

These are the chords you will need to play
- God Bless the Child -

If you have started with the introduction to my chords and finger configurations,
you will be familiar with these configurations. The first is a suspension
chord using the open strings (D) as the susended notes. The second
is the major chord and the third is the minor chord finger
configuration. (see "How I Play")

The intro to the song is actually the musical progression of the
verse itself. So getting that down, you have 2/3 of the song learned.
All that is left is the bridge and the lyrics of course.

God Bless the Child

To Begin: The Intro.

The first finger config. is played on the 8th and 9th frets. I am
holding down the bottom 3 strings
in the 8th fret and the bottom
2 strings in the 9th fret (play 2 beats) --- Using the same configuration
I move down to the 3rd and 4th frets (play 2 beats) and I repeat
those 2 chords again (play 2 beats each)---

Using the same config. , move to the 4th and 5th frets (play 2 beats)
then drop the finger holding down the 2 strings to the bottom
string only (play 2 beats)... then play a major chord on the 5th
fret. barring all strings (play 2 beats ) into a minor chord on the
same fret (play 2 beats)....

Then using first config. on the 3rd and 4th frets (play 2 beats) drop
the finger again to bottom string (play 2 beats)... move to 1st and
2nd frets (play 2 beats) and drop finger to bottom string again
(play 2 beats).... here you would go back to the top and start singing...

The song

8th & 9th frets: Them that's got shall
3rd & 4th frets: get

While the weak ones - fade
lord empty pockets
never make the grade because (drop finger)
Mama may have (drop finger)
and papa may have (drop finger)
But god bless the child
